Melia Sancti Petri is a luxury hotel on the spectacular La Barrossa beach on the Atlantic coast, with five golf courses within a five-minute drive.

Lorrin Golf packages to the hotel include golf on La Estancia, Novo Sancti Petri and Lomas Sancti Petri with complimentary transfers to the golf courses. There’s also complimentary use of the hotel spa and fitness centre, and free entry to the Casino Bahia in Cadiz (about a 30 minute drive).

The Melia Sancti Petri was the first five-star hotel to open in the region and has played host to VIP guests including King Juan Carlos I of Spain, Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry.

The hotel has two distinct areas: the first a beautiful courtyard surrounded by archways where gardens and fountains create a perfect atmosphere for rest and relaxation. The second area is located adjacent to a 70m² swimming pool with direct access to one of Spain’s finest beach.

The courtyard passages are also home to three of the hotel’s restaurants, the Don Juan Bar, the Alberti Theater Café and the Beauty Farm.

Guest Rooms

All rooms are decorated in traditional Andalusian style with warm tones. They are equipped with a two-seater sofa, a coffee table, a work desk, a large wardrobe, a television and a classical wall unit which contains the minibar.

Royal Service Superior Rooms and Suites are available with a choice of a King-size double bed or two twin beds on request on arrival.

Superior Room (35m²): The room consists of a hall, bedroom, full bathroom with bathtub and separate shower and a furnished terrace. Maximum capacity: Double bed or twin beds plus one extra bed or baby cot.

Royal Service Superior Room (40m²): The room consists of a hall, bedroom, reading area, full bathroom with bathtub and separate shower and a furnished terrace. Maximum capacity: double bed or twin beds plus two extra beds or two baby cots.

Suite (61m²): Located right alongside the beach, facing the sea and providing a view of the ancient Sancti Petri Castle. The room consists of a hallway, a large bedroom with a reading area, full bathroom with bathtub and separate shower and a terrace. Furnished with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, a two-seater sofa, two large armchairs around a low table, a dining-table, a desk and a unit with a Hi-fi music-centre, TV and minibar. Maximum capacity: double bed or twin beds plus two extra beds or two baby cots.

Presidential Suite (70m²): The terrace to the Presidential Suites provide spectacular views. To the right the ancient Sancti Petri Castle, the ocean in front, and to the left the sublime combination of Novo Sancti Petri golf course and the Atlantic.

The room consists of a hall, a separate lounge, a large bedroom with a King-size bed, a full bathroom with a whirlpool bath and separate shower and a furnished terrace.

The bedroom provides a large King-size bed and another wall unit with a minibar, television and Hi-Fi music system. The bathroom includes a whirlpool bath and separate shower. Guests staying in Royal Service Rooms and all suites will have access to the exclusive Royal Service Lounge with, coffee and soft drinks service, Selection of French pastries after 3 pm, Aperitifs and snacks between 7 pm. and 9pm.

Bar/Dining

El Patio restaurant: Varied and imaginative buffets with show cooking, which guests can enjoy at the tables in the hotel’s main gardened courtyard with live music in the summer. Open from 19.30 to 22:30. Opening times may vary in the low season.

The gourmet Alhambra restaurant: Creativity and the latest culinary techniques blend with tradition and excellent local produce within a warm and exclusive setting. All accompanied by a superb wine list. One of the province’s most elegant restaurants. Open every day from 19:30 to 22:30, subject to reservation.

The Mediterranean San Marco restaurant: Located between the main courtyard and the swimming pool, its large windows provide guests with spectacular views. Its menu offers, among many dishes, a wide choice of fresh fish caught in the bay, splendid salads and various rice and pasta dishes. Open every day for lunch from 13:30 to 15:30. In the summer the restaurant occasionally opens at night for special barbeques on the terrace.

The Don Juan terrace bar and the Don Fernando golf bar: Both bars offer a great variety of imaginative salads, appetising dishes and freshly made sandwiches. The perfect places to enjoy a peaceful evening accompanied by some live and light piano music.

Leisure Facilities

Leisure facilities at Melia Sancti Petri include a large outdoor swimming pool for adults and another for children.

There is also a hairdressers, fully equipped fitness centre and games room with table tennis (from July 1 to Sep 9).

In addition there is a Club House, large gardens, shopping gallery and football pitch. You can also make reservations for horse riding, water sports, paddle, tennis, etc.

The Beauty Farm at Meliá Sancti Petri is a unique centre where you can get fit, do sport or relax.

The Beauty Farm Spa offers a circuit with Finnish sauna, Roman thermal baths, hamman, pediluvio, sensation showers, heated loungers, hydromassage baths, dynamic hydrothermal pool, relaxation area and natural solarium.

The Neokit Cocoon bath & solarium offers Turkish bath, Vichy shower with vibrating tray, a bath with water jets.

La Estancia

Golf La Estancia, owned by Melia Sancti Petri Hotel, offers a combination of links and protected natural parkland. A sea breeze is the main challenge here, but there are three lakes and four brooks with water coming into play on holes 1, 4, 9 and 15 - 18. Greens slope sharply and offer a stern test to the best putter, as well as calling for precision iron play. The course, which sits on an area of protected land, has a great variety of bird life and vegetation. Fairways are lined with a mix of 100-year-old olive trees, oaks and pine trees.

Novo Sancti Petri Mar y Pinos

Par: 72 Length: 6460m Course designer: Seve Ballesteros

The popular Mar y Pinos course (Sea and Pine Trees) is a spectacular links-style course. The front nine has spacious fairways with plenty of water hazards and views out to the sea. The signature hole is number 6, where the green is spectacularly located immediately over a large, sandy beach. On the back nine the profusion of pine trees replaces water as the course’s natural challenge.

Novo Sancti Petri Centro

Par: 72 Length: 6071m Course designer: Seve Ballesteros

Novo Sancti Petri Centro runs along the Atlantic Ocean with a varied and unusual mix of 6 par-3 holes, 6 par-4 holes and 6 par-5 holes. The first 9 holes are largely flat, with a large water hazard between holes number 5, 8 and 9. From the 10th to the 13th hole, the ground is slightly undulating, offering some excellent views over the Atlantic. Water again comes into play between the 10th and 13th hole. On the 18th, the designer of the course has immortalised himself by leaving a bunker in the shape of an "S" for Seve.

Lomas Sancti Petri

Par: 72 Length: 6071m Course designer: Manuel Pinero

Former Ryder Cup star Manuel Pinero has used the stunning natural surroundings at Lomas Sancti Petri to create a beautiful test of golf. The course is short, so there is no need to overpower it, but fairways are tight and Pinero has ensured strategy and clever shot-making are vital to a good round. Water winds throughout the course and comes into play on almost every hole.
