Steve North PGA
Responsible for the delivery of world class coaching at the Home of Golf is Steve North, Director of Instruction at St Andrews Links Golf Academy.
Steve is an expert in the use of video analysis technology and has worked with golfers at all levels of the game including successful tournament professionals, nationally ranked junior players, county level players.
Before joining St Andrews as Director of Golf at the Links Trust, Steve was director of instruction at Saujana Golf and Country Club, one of Asia's top golf resorts, and previously became one of the youngest golf professionals to complete the rigorous David Leadbetter training programme.
Originally from Lincolnshire, Steve started playing golf at the age of fourteen and within three years had turned professional.
Kevin Hale
Before St Andrews, Kevin was based at The Belfry as an instructor at the PGA National Golf Academy where he was mentored by some of the best instructors in the industry.
Kevin began playing the game at a young age and enjoyed notable success as an amateur. Whilst a junior, Kevin won the Staffordshire County Championship.
During his seven years at The Belfry, Kevin acquired a vast knowledge of teaching the game and is recognised for his coaching expertise. He has enabled international players to achieve greater levels of performance, and helped to strengthen the competitiveness of county squads.
Kevin is a proponent of a truly personal approach: "I work with a player's individual body, mind and technical abilities. I want to improve each area in a simple and practical method to smoothly maximise a player's potential."
Stephen Sweeney PGA
Stephen has returned to St Andrews having run the a successful junior development programme at The Montgomerie in Dubai. He has also spent time in the US, with stints at Sawgrass Country Club in Florida and the Butch Harmon Golf School in Las Vegas!
While working in the Gulf Region, Stephen was a regular competitor on the UAE PGA Circuit. Stephen's tournament background ensures he will have major input into Junior Lorrin Golf Academy in St Andrews.
Patrick Walker PGA
Patrick joined the coaching team in St. Andrews from a thriving academy in Surrey. In addition to launching a world class custom fitting service, he established an impressive individual client base of amateur and professional golfers.
Prior to this, Patrick was part of the coaching staff at the Marriott Forest of Arden, venue for the British masters and English Open.
Patrick is a graduate of the Applied Golf Management Studies degree program which is run by the University of Birmingham in conjunction with the PGA. The degree is the only one of its kind with high numbers of elite golfers competing for one of the limited 25 places per year. It combines academic and theoretical aspects of sports management and science related to golf, with vocational aspects of the game. Patrick graduated from the degree with a first class honours degree, further; he was awarded the highest mark ever in the history of the degree program.
Patrick also continues to compete at a high level, playing in both national and regional professional tournaments.
