2012 will mark the 23nd Anniversary of the Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club, Jumeirah Beach.
Generally accepted as the “crown jewel” of the European Tour’s three-stop Desert Swing (with Abu Dhabi and Qatar), the event attracts the very best in European Golf, including Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods.
In 2011, Spain's Alvaro Quiros, who was tied 65th after an opening round of 73, staged one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, to win the tournament at 11 under.
